On his first visit to Tangier in the summer of 2012, Ramon Bischoff met Peter Müller at his market stall. It became immediately clear that they shared Swiss origins. Peche led a simple life in the Moroccan city, somewhat removed from the technological hustle of Europe. Peche hinted at missing elements of his past life. He talked about the music particularly, the concerts and the experimental punk and art scene. Ever since living abroad, he had found satisfaction in working with his multitrack recorder and sampling gear, creating and composing music.
The next time Ramon visited the city, he couldn‘t find Peche anymore. He eventually got in contact with the owner of the café Baba. Peche had left there a USB stick for Ramon in early 2021. The memory contained an unorganised archive of recordings and photos, labeled MS Peche.
Peter Müller‘s musical legacy is distinctive, reflecting his extraordinary life, which was influenced by various cultures and trends. The compositions, spanning multiple genres like punk, electronica, 90^s techno, sample-based experimental music, avant-garde, and world music, tell his story.
Peche was born around 1970 in a village close to Aarau and disappeared in 2021 during the lockdown in Tangier.
